Capturing that special moment

for a lifetime

About

My name is Josh Robertson, and I am an amateur freelance photographer. I live in Rocky Mount, Virginia and I have never taken any sort of photography classes, but I very much enjoy taking photos and editing them to look the best possible. I recently started comparing my photos to other “professional” photos out on the market and realized that I could to this also! So many of my family and friends have told me I should do this full time for a business so after everyone has told me this, I have decided to jump in and give it a shot. If you’re interested in having someone come out to your event and take pictures for you for a very reasonable price, I believe that I am your man. I will beat any price and I promise you won’t be disappointed with your pictures. Contact me if you’re interested in having me photograph your event!

Some types of events I will photograph are but not limited to:

  • Weddings
  • Sporting Events
  • Festivals
  • Family portraits
  • Shows (beauty shows, animal shows, car shows, etc)
  • Self portraits
  • Company photos
  • Team photos

Nikon D60

This is my first DSLR camera that I’ve ever owned. It’s a fantastic camera, it is about a year old. I have taken hundreds if not thousands of pictures with this camera. Arguing a camera with a photographer is like arguing Ford versus Chevy with a mechanic, no matter who you talk too, it’s a different opinion. In MY opinion with cameras, Canon and Nikon are the top of the line and you’re not going to get a better shot out of any other brand. MY brand of choice between the 2, is Nikon primarily based upon reputation. I have not been let down by my Nikon D60 as of yet!

Panasonic Lumix AVCHD Lite ZS3

This is a GREAT camera! I use this camera when I cannot take my Nikon with me. A lot of places will not allow professional cameras in, so I have to resort to this one. It’s a small point and shoot camera, that also shoots high definition video. I usually keep the settings on vivid, and I have not been disappointed by this camera yet. It was a 2009 Christmas gift to me from my wife and I love it.

Nikon CoolPix S230

This camera is actually my wifes. She takes photos using this camera, and while I do not have too much experience with it, it seems to take very nice pictures. I purchased this camera for her for Christmas in 2009 primarily because it was a Nikon. The touchscreen feature sold me on it, and I wanted her to have a nice Nikon to use. Her previous Fujifilm camera was stolen in Savannah, Georgia so this is a replacement.

Sigma 70mm~300mm This is my primary lens that I use for most of my shoots. This is a good zoom lens with great quality. Being a zoom lens I usually have to stay back a bit to get the shots, but it makes it worth it because the quality and crispness of the objects are superior. This lens is a replacement to my Nikkor 55mm~200mm lens that was stolen in Savannah Georgia.

Nikon Nikor DX 18mm~55mm This is a great lens for closer shots. This is great for indoors when I cannot get the needed distance to take great shots. It has the vibration reduction filter on it, to help with an unsteady hand. This lens is the first lens that I purchased with my camera.

Kenko Vari 8000S 420mm~800mm I purchased this lens in late 2009 primarily for zoom. This is great for getting objects very far away, because this lens is primarily used with a 2x adapter strengthening this lens to 840mm~1600mm so you can zoom on objects as far away as a quarter-mile and still have a decent photo quality with a good resolution.

Portfolio

Most of the pictures in my portfolio are family pictures, because I am trying to build a bigger portfolio. When I take pictures, I individually edit the photos for quality to make sure they’re the best looking photos possible. I have many happy references I can provide upon request.
